  • Ruth will read your story and supply a detailed written critique. This will both appraise your work and make constructive suggestions for improvement and development.
  • Ruth will advise on general presentation (including picture books), suggest the age range for which your children’s writing is most suitable and include some general notes on relevant genres.
  • Ruth will give market advice, i.e. pointers as to the most suitable publishers/editors/agents to approach with your story.
  • Ruth is happy to look at a complete book or, alternatively, the first few chapters and a synopsis. Her fees, together with how to submit your work, are detailed below. Our report is sent out within 45 days although, obviously, she will endeavour to deal with all work as soon as possible.

Manuscripts should be typed/printed and presented as if for the publisher. We do not accept work by e-mail or on disc. Please enclose payment and return postage with the manuscript. (Overseas authors should send International Reply Coupons). Include a stamped, addressed postcard if you would like your manuscript acknowledged.
