Author
I’ve written books for adults and children of all ages – two have been optioned for film and TV. They’ve also been read on TV, radio and included in the national reading library for the Blind. My books have been translated into many languages (French, German, Dutch, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Polish etc).
My adult memoir, “The Puppy That Came For Christmas …” (published by Penguin Nov 2010) is a Sunday Times Best Seller and has been serialised in the national press. The book will be published internationally in the new year.
I regularly run workshops at children’s literature festivals (e.g.Narberth Children’s Literature Festival , Bath Festival of Children’s Literature, Wychwood Music Festival etc).
Screenwriter
I have a M.A. in TV Screenwriting from Leicester De Montfort University and a Diploma in Screenwriting from UCLA.
I’ve also written plays, radio scripts, film scripts and scripts for TV shows such as The Hoobs (Channel 4) and PicMe (Nickleodeon).
Writing Tutor
I’ve taught Writing Children’s Fiction courses at Middlesex University, Leicester University and the Arvon Foundation.
I’ve also taught Adaptation for TV, Film and Radio at Swanwick Writers Summer School and ran workshops on Adaptation for the Society of Women Writers and Journalists
